What your name contributes to the score
Two of the four signals read names rather than dates. Together they account for half of the numerology component plus the whole vibration component — so the letters you type genuinely move the result.
The Destiny number
In numerology, every letter maps to a digit from one to nine. Adding up the letters of a name and reducing the total to a single digit gives the Destiny number, traditionally read as describing the direction a person tends to move in.
The calculator compares both Destiny numbers and awards a bonus when they share the same parity — both odd or both even. This sits inside the numerology signal, which carries 40% of the total.
Soul vibration
The second name-based signal is simpler: the first vowel that appears in each name. Matching first vowels score higher than differing ones. In name lore, vowels are treated as carrying the underlying tone of a word, with consonants shaping its edges.
This contributes 10% — the lightest of the four weights, since it rests on a single letter.
Which name should you enter?
There is no single correct answer, and the tradition is genuinely divided. Some numerologists use the full name as first recorded; others hold that the name a person actually goes by carries more weight, because it is the one in daily use.
The practical consequence is that different forms of the same name give different scores. A nickname, a full legal name, and a name with a middle name included will each produce their own result. If you want a consistent answer, pick one convention and use it for both people.
Why the same names always score the same
Both name calculations are deterministic. Nothing is randomised, so a given spelling always yields the same Destiny number and the same vibration score — today, tomorrow, and on anyone else's device.
