Turkish verbs inflect heavily. A single root produces a large number of surface forms, and identifying verbs in a text means unwinding those suffixes.
Consider forms built from the root gel ("come"): geliyor, gelmiş, gelecekmiş, gelebilseydi, gelemeyeceklerini. All express the same action, yet as strings they look quite unlike one another. Enumerating every form in a dictionary is not practical.
Instead the tool analyzes each word: it peels suffixes from the end, recovers the root, and determines whether that root is a verb.
Turkish derives words from verb roots that function as nouns, adjectives or adverbs in a sentence — koşmak ("to run"), koşan ("running", as a modifier), koşarak ("by running"). These come from a verb root but are not finite predicates.
They sit at a boundary. Grammatically they are non-finite forms, but because their roots carry action they may appear in results.
Constructions such as yardım etmek ("to help", literally "to make help") spread the action across two words. The tool recognizes the auxiliary verb and treats the accompanying noun separately.
